Uplift Initiatives
Local action | Lasting impact
Here’s a glimpse into some of the community-driven initiatives we’ve brought to life; each one designed to uplift, support, and empower where it’s needed most.
-

Grace & Groceries
Grace & Groceries is a frontline relief initiative that delivers immediate grocery support to families navigating crisis, referred directly by social workers. These vouchers provide dignified, no-barrier access to essential food during moments of acute vulnerability, allowing families to focus on care, connection, and stability while longer-term assistance is arranged.
By embedding support within trusted referral pathways, the program strengthens wraparound care and reduces the risk of compounding hardship.
-

Secure Start
Secure Start is a dignity-first initiative that provides essential household items to young people transitioning from crisis accommodation into independent living. Developed in partnership with frontline youth services, it bridges the critical gap between emergency care and long-term stability by offering tailored starter kits with bedding, kitchenware, hygiene products, and other practical essentials.
These kits meet immediate needs while reinforcing a sense of safety, autonomy, and respect. By working directly with caseworkers and support agencies, Secure Start ensures timely, targeted support that complements broader wraparound services.
-

Hampers of Hope
Hampers of Hope is a seasonal initiative that brings dignity, joy, and practical relief to families experiencing acute hardship during the Christmas period. In collaboration with local school principals, we identify families in crisis and provide tailored support through festive food hampers and age-appropriate gifts for each family member.
By responding to verified referrals from trusted educators, we ensure that support reaches those most in need, quietly, respectfully, and with care. This initiative not only eases food insecurity and financial stress but also empowers parents to create meaningful holiday experiences for their children.

Daring Dippers
As part of our commitment to inclusion and empowerment, Uplift Northern Beaches proudly supports the Autism Swim Dippers program held at Warriewood and Queenslciff beaches. This unique initiative gives children with autism and other diverse abilities the opportunity to build confidence in the ocean while learning essential surf and water safety skills.
Delivered in a safe, supportive environment by trained professionals and volunteers, the program reflects our belief that every child deserves the chance to feel capable, included, and connected to their community.

Learning Lift
Uplift Northern Beaches has proudly supported school students from diverse backgrounds who face barriers to accessing essential educational tools. For many families, the cost of technology can be a major obstacle, especially when it comes to laptops, which are now vital for learning, connection, and participation in school life.
Through the Learning Lift initiative, we’ve provided students with the devices they need to engage fully in their education, complete assignments, and stay connected with teachers and peers. It’s a simple but powerful way to promote inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunity, ensuring every child has the tools to thrive, no matter their circumstances.
